01The agreement

Outlands is made by Vespera Corporation (“Vespera”, “we”, “us” or “our”). These terms are an agreement between you and Vespera. They apply whenever you play Outlands, create or use an Outlands account, buy Outmarks, or use our websites (together, “Outlands”).

By playing or using Outlands, you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy, our Refund Policy and the game rules. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Outlands.

02Who can play

You must be at least 13 years old to play Outlands. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must agree to these terms for you, and must give permission before you buy anything.

Parents and guardians are responsible for purchases made on accounts used by their children.

03Your account

  • You can play as a guest, and you can register your account with an email address and password to keep your progress across devices.
  • A guest account lives in your browser. If you clear your browser’s data before registering, you may lose that account and everything on it, including purchases, and we may not be able to recover it.
  • Keep your login details private. You are responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us straight away at support@vesperacorporation.com if you think someone else has used it.
  • Your account is personal to you. You may not sell, trade, share, lend or give away your account, or buy someone else’s.
  • Your display name must follow the game rules. We may change a name that doesn’t.

04Playing fair

Outlands is meant to be fun for everyone. When you play, you agree not to:

  • cheat, including aimbots, ESP, macros, modified clients or anything else that gives you an unfair advantage;
  • exploit bugs or glitches on purpose, instead of reporting them;
  • team up with opponents in Solo, or with other teams, to gain an advantage (teaming);
  • harass, threaten, bully or abuse other players, or use hateful, sexual or offensive names or language;
  • attack, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer or interfere with our servers or services, or get around our security, rate limits or bans;
  • impersonate Vespera staff, moderators or other players;
  • use Outlands to scam other players or to break the law.

The full game rules are on the rules page.

05Outmarks and items

Outmarks are Outlands’ in-game currency. You can buy them with real money, and you may also earn or receive them in the game, for example from the Battle Pass, quests or gifts from us. You use Outmarks for cosmetic items in the Item Shop and for the premium Battle Pass.

  • A licence, not property. Outmarks and in-game items (skins, gliders, emotes, music and other cosmetics) are a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use them in Outlands. You don’t own them, and they have no value outside the game.
  • No cash value. Outmarks and items can’t be exchanged for real money, goods or anything of value, except as our Refund Policy says or the law requires.
  • No trading or selling. Outmarks and items can’t be sold, traded or transferred between accounts, except through features we provide (such as gifts we send).
  • Cosmetic only. Items change how you look, never how strong you are. Nothing you can buy gives you an advantage in a match.
  • Changes to items. We may change, rebalance or retire items. If we remove an item you bought from the game entirely, we’ll give you something of similar value, such as a refund in Outmarks or a replacement item.

06Purchases

  • Outmarks are sold in bundles. Prices are shown in the game before you buy, in US dollars unless stated otherwise, and may include or have sales tax or VAT added where required.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and we never see them. By paying, you also agree to Stripe’s terms.
  • Outmarks are added to your account once Stripe confirms your payment. This is usually instant, but some payment methods take longer.
  • Outmarks and items are digital content delivered immediately. Where the law allows, by completing a purchase you agree that it’s delivered straight away and that you lose any right to cancel once it has been delivered. This doesn’t affect your rights under our Refund Policy or the law where you live.
  • Refunds, accidental purchases, missing Outmarks and chargebacks are covered by our Refund Policy.
  • We may change prices or bundles at any time. A change never affects a purchase you’ve already made.

07The beta

Outlands is in beta. That means it’s still being built: features, maps, items, balance and progression may change, and you may run into bugs, downtime or lost match progress. We work hard to keep your account, your purchases and your items safe through every update, and if something you bought is lost because of a problem on our side, contact us and we’ll put it right.

08Moderation and bans

If you break these terms or the game rules, we may take action, depending on how serious it is. This can include a warning, removing you from a match, changing your display name, removing items or progress gained by cheating, or suspending or permanently banning your account or connection.

If your account is banned for breaking these terms or the rules, you lose access to its Outmarks and items, and you won’t get a refund for them, unless the law says otherwise. If you think we made a mistake, email us and we’ll take another look.

09Our content

Outlands, including its code, art, music, sounds, maps, characters, names and logos, belongs to Vespera or our licensors. We give you a limited, personal, revocable licence to play Outlands for your own non-commercial entertainment. You may not copy, sell, modify or redistribute it, or make clones or private servers, without our written permission.

You’re welcome to stream Outlands and make videos of it, including monetized ones, as long as you don’t suggest that Vespera endorses you.

10Your content

Things you create or send in Outlands, such as your display name, player reports, survey answers and feedback, stay yours. You give us permission to use them to run, moderate and improve Outlands. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.

11Changes to the game

We may update, change, pause or stop any part of Outlands at any time, including features, modes, seasons and the Item Shop. We may also restart servers to install updates. If we ever shut Outlands down for good, we’ll give at least 30 days’ notice in the game or on our website, and we’ll stop selling Outmarks before then.

12Disclaimers

Outlands is provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we don’t promise that it will always be available, error-free or secure, or that it will meet your expectations. Some places don’t allow these disclaimers, so they may not all apply to you.

13Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, Vespera isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost data, progress or profits, arising from your use of Outlands. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, such as for fraud, or your rights as a consumer.

14Ending your use

You can stop playing at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account by emailing support@vesperacorporation.com. When your account is deleted, its Outmarks and items are gone for good. We may end or suspend your access if you break these terms, as described above.

15Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that isn’t resolved informally will be handled by the state or federal courts located in Indiana, and you and Vespera agree to those courts’ jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.

16Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page, and for important changes we’ll let you know in the game. If you keep playing after a change, you accept the updated terms.
