01The basics
Outlands is a battle royale: drop in, loot up and be the last one standing. Play hard, play fair and let everyone enjoy the match. These rules apply to every mode (Solo, Duos and Squads), every match, and everywhere else in Outlands, like names, friends and parties.
By playing, you agree to follow them, along with our Terms of Service. Our moderators enforce them, and the penalties below are a guide: serious cases can skip straight to a ban.
02No cheating
Win with your own skill. You may not use anything that gives you an unfair advantage, including:
- aimbots, triggerbots, melee lock or any aim assistance;
- ESP, wallhacks, radar or anything else that shows what you shouldn’t be able to see;
- speed or movement hacks, macros or scripts that play for you;
- modified game files, injected code or browser extensions that change how the game plays;
- playing on, or with, an account someone else is using to cheat.
Penalty: first offence, a 30-day ban; second offence, a permanent ban. Progress and items gained by cheating may be removed.
03No teaming
Everyone who isn’t on your team is your opponent. Teaming means working with them, for example:
- in Solo, agreeing with another player not to fight, helping them, or fighting others together;
- in Duos and Squads, allying with another team, or joining a match with friends split across teams so you can help each other;
- giving loot to opponents, or using emotes and pings to arrange a truce.
Bots don’t count: teaming up against them is still teaming if another player is involved.
Penalty: first offence, a warning; second, a 24-hour ban; third, a 7-day ban; fourth, a permanent ban. Teaming while cheating is a permanent ban.
04Bugs and exploits
Found a bug that gives an advantage, like getting through a wall, under the map, or duplicating items? Please don’t use it or share it. Report it to support@vesperacorporation.com. You’ll never be punished for reporting a bug, only for abusing it or spreading it.
Penalty: treated like cheating when it’s used on purpose to win or to get items.
05Respect other players
Trash talk is part of games; hate isn’t. You may not:
- harass, bully, threaten or stalk anyone, in a match or through friends and parties;
- use slurs or attack anyone for their race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, disability or any other part of who they are;
- share anyone’s personal information, or ask for it;
- post sexual, violent or shocking content anywhere players can see it;
- scam players, or offer to buy or sell anything for real money.
Penalty: from a warning to a permanent ban, depending on how serious it is. Threats and sharing personal information are a permanent ban.
06Names
Your display name is seen by everyone. It may not:
- contain slurs, hate, sexual content or personal information;
- pretend to be Outlands staff, a moderator, or another real player or creator;
- advertise cheats, other websites or anything for sale.
Penalty: first offence, a warning and your name is changed; after that, you may lose the ability to change your name. A name that advertises cheats is a permanent ban.
07Your account
- One person per account. Don’t share, sell, trade or buy accounts, and don’t let someone else play on yours to rank it up.
- Don’t use another account to get around a ban. Ban evasion makes every account involved permanently banned.
- Outmarks and items can’t be traded or sold outside the game.
08Outlands staff
Real staff have a role badge and a coloured name in the game, such as Founder, Developer or Moderator. Nobody from Outlands will ever ask for your password. Pretending to be staff is a ban.
Staff and moderators may watch matches to check reports. They follow the same rules as everyone else.
09Reporting players
If you think someone broke these rules, use Report Player on the elimination screen or in the in-match menu, and choose a reason. Reports go straight to our moderators, who review them. We don’t share the outcome of a report, but every report is looked at.
Please report honestly. Sending false reports on purpose, or flooding reports to get someone banned, can be punished too.
10VPNs and proxies
To make ban evasion harder, connections through VPNs and proxies may be blocked. If you need one to play, for example because of your school or workplace network, email support@vesperacorporation.com and ask for an exception.
11Penalties
Depending on what happened, moderators can:
- give a warning;
- remove you from a match;
- change your name, or stop you from changing it;
- ban your account for a while, or permanently;
- ban your network as well, for cheating and ban evasion.
Purchases on a banned account aren’t refunded (see the Refund Policy). The penalties listed in each rule are what usually happens; moderators can go further for serious or repeated cases.
12Appeals
Think we got it wrong? Email support@vesperacorporation.com with your display name and why you think the penalty was a mistake. A different member of the team will take another look. Please be honest and polite: appeals that aren’t are ignored.
13New to Outlands?
Drop out of the Skyhauler, land somewhere promising, and grab weapons, ammo, shields and healing. The storm closes in during the match, and staying outside the safe zone hurts more the longer the match goes on, so keep moving. Be the last player (or team) standing to win a Victory Royale.
